In 1956, the Faculty of Medicine was opened at the Far Eastern State University
August 7, 1958 was isolated from the Far Eastern State University and transformed into the Vladivostok State Medical Institute
The first post-graduate course was opened in 1961 at the Department of Biochemistry.
Fifth scientific conference in Vladivostok State Medical University was held in 1965
In 1995, the Institute received university status. Certificate of state accreditation of higher education received a Federal Government Agency “Vladivostok State Medical University”
In University worked 2 Honored Worker of Science, 8 academicians of Natural Sciences and 45 academicians of other public academies of Russia, 6 members of foreign academies, 19 honored physicians of the Russian Federation. University annually conducted scientific-methodical conference on medical education (from 1997 to 2003 was conducted 8 conferences).
January 1, 2013 the university was renamed the State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Vladivostok State Medical University” of the Russian Federation Ministry of Health (Medical University TSMU). The corresponding order was signed by Health Minister Skvortsova V.I.
