Petrograd Institute of Public Dentistry  established in 1920. In 1927 it was transformed into the Leningrad Scientific-Practical Dental Institute, and in 1935 – the Leningrad Institute of Dentistry. In 1954 transferred to the city of Kalinin, and renamed into Tver State Medical Academy. In March 2015 the academy was renamed the University and the university was renamed the Medical University Tver State Medical University Ministry of Health of Russia.

Every year the TSMA Indian Students Association celebrates all Indian & South Asian festivals: e.g. Holi, Diwali, Durgapuja, Baishakhi, Eid.

Accommodation

Hostels are centrally heated (air-conditioned), fully furnished. The basic system is two or three students in one room. Students are provided with full bedding. Separate arrangements for boys and girls. All the hostels are well guarded with police security.
Bed linen is changed once in a week and hostel is cleaned once everyday.
