Russian New University

The autonomous Non-commercial Organisation of Higher Education “Russian New University” was established in 1991.

Russian New University offers ample opportunities to pursue higher and secondary vocational education in Russian regions. The University has branches and local accessing centers in 21 cities as well as a developed system of distance learning.

The University conducts educational programs at the Bachelor, Specialist, Master, and Ph.D. levels as well as programs of secondary vocational education and additional vocational training.

DIRECTIONS

Higher education is presented by 14 large directions of training in six fields of study:

INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES

The Institute of Information Systems and Engineering and Computer Technologies (until 2018 – the Faculty of Information Systems and Computer Technologies) was founded in 1998.

The Institute trains highly qualified specialists in the field of information systems and technologies, system programming, telecommunications, and communications, who can design and operate economic corporate information systems, management information systems, create new generations of information technologies and software products, guarantee information security for users of all levels.

THE INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT, AND FINANCE

The Institute of Economics, Management, and Finance (originally the Faculty of Finance and Economics) was founded in 1995.

The educational process at the Institute of Economics, Management, and Finance is focused primarily on obtaining in-depth knowledge of basic disciplines and is conducted according to curricula developed per the federal state educational standards of higher education.

Future economists, managers, and customs officers are trained in the departments of economics, customs, finance and banking, and state and municipal administration.

INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS TECHNOLOGIES

The Institute of Business Technologies (until September 20218 – the Faculty of Business Technologies) was founded in 1995. The Institute trains personnel in the areas of undergraduate and graduate studies: “Tourism”, “Hospitality”, “Service”, “Advertising and Public Relations”, “Publishing”, “Management”, and “Personnel Management”.

The development strategy of the Institute of Business Technologies includes the development and implementation of innovative technologies and teaching methods: conducting training, business and role-playing games, creating multimedia projects, developing electronic teaching materials and electronic textbooks, and participating in creative competitions.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Russian New University (RosNOU) began its international activities in 2001. Since then, it has always paid careful attention to establishing and maintaining cooperation with foreign universities and scientific organizations as well as ensuring the academic mobility of its students and teaching staff.

RosNOU enrolls international students in programs of higher and secondary vocational education, including in the frames of student exchanges with foreign partner universities. RosNOU also has the Educational Center for Foreign Citizens which provides international students with an opportunity to undergo pre-university educational programs and master the Russian language. Regularly, the university arranges internships in Russian companies for foreign students who would like to gain practical, first-hand experience and get an idea of how business in Russia is done. Apart from that, RosNOU participates in organizing joint scientific and educational projects, international conferences, seminars, and summer and winter schools as well as arranges visits of foreign researchers and academic staff.

LIBRARY

Today, the library is an integral part of the unified system of continuous education, one of the main departments of the university responsible for information support of the educational process, and operates based on the “Regulations on the Library”.

The development prospects and new goals corresponding to the development strategy of the university are connected by the library with a change in the traditional forms and methods of collecting, processing, storing, providing, and distributing information following user requests. Therefore, the innovations of recent years are aimed at optimizing the management of information resources.

The book fund of the library is 210.5 thousand copies and contains a large collection of educational, educational, methodological, scientific, and socio-political literature. The volume and depth of collections and their compliance with educational standards are the determining factors in the library acquisition policy. The library forms a collection of publications per the requirements of academic disciplines, as well as per the requests of readers.

EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC LABORATORIES

Laboratory of Diagnostic Methods for Nanoparticles, Composite Materials, and Physical and Chemical Measurements

The modern equipment of the laboratory makes it possible to study both the nanoparticles themselves and their functional features, as well as the macro properties and structure of nanomodified materials. At the same time, the requirements of the standards for the tests carried out are strictly observed. The equipment of the laboratory provides for the study of the influence on the properties of materials of high temperatures, and electromagnetic fields of high intensity in both vacuum and high-pressure conditions. Possibility to study the chemical composition and determine functional groups by IR spectroscopy, to study the macrostructure of materials and ongoing processes in real-time using light and dark field optical microscopy.

Laboratory of carbon nanomaterials

The laboratory of carbon nanomaterials was created at the research and production enterprise “Center of Nanotechnologies”.

NPP “Center for Nanotechnology” was organized in 2008 with the participation of the Russian New University to implement innovative scientific developments to create industrial technologies for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes, as well as materials and devices based on them.

Legal Research Laboratory

The Legal Research Laboratory is a resource center of the Institute, which provides the educational process with material and technical means, a specialized classroom fund, and special software.

Psychological laboratory

Mission

The laboratory was created following the implementation of the traditional Russian culture function of the University – the center of advanced scientific research, educational, outreach, and social activities. The laboratory contributes to the formation of professional self-awareness of students-psychologists, contributes to the social and psychological adaptation of first-year students, and the development of professional competence of students-psychologists in practice. All this makes it possible to implement a competency-based approach in the preparation of a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology.

DORMITORY

The dormitory was renovated in 2014. It is a block-type dormitory: each block has two rooms and a bathroom. The building has two wings. Each floor of the right-wing is equipped with two kitchens, three shower rooms, four lounges, and a washing and drying room. In the left wing of the building, there is one kitchen per floor and private showers in each block. The territory and building of the dormitory are guarded. The building is equipped with surveillance cameras.

The dormitory is fitted with the necessary equipment to ensure accessibility and guarantee comfortable accommodation of persons with special needs and disabled people:

• the dormitory has a ramp for accessible entrance to the building for people with special needs and disabled people;
• on the ground floor there are living rooms, study hall, and bathrooms adapted for people with special needs and disabled people and equipped with a warning system (wireless buttons);
• rooms are equipped with tactile Braille plates.
