Perm State National Research University
Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “Perm State National Research University” (PSNRU) is the first university in the Urals, one of the founders of the Association of Classical Universities of Russia and the Association of Leading Universities of Russia.
The university is also known as Perm University, which was documented in 2016. Perm University is traditionally called “classical”, as well as PSU.
In 2006, the university became the winner of the competition within the priority national project “Education”, in 2010 it was awarded the status of a national research university. Perm University maintains and strengthens its status as one of the centers of the country’s intellectual and spiritual life, taking its rightful place among the leading universities in Russia.

INSTITUTE OF COMPUTER SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES
The main task of the Institute of Computer Science and Technology is to create conditions for learning, in which each applicant will be able to find their own line of activity in the big world of information technology and fully reveal their intellectual potential.
Much attention in the process of teaching students will be given to the formation of practical skills for applying the acquired knowledge, for which summer trimesters (up to 20% of study time) are devoted to practical classes. During internships conducted both at PSNRU and in IT companies, students will consolidate their acquired skills, put them together to solve practical problems from different subject areas, develop teamwork skills, and master the technologies of project activities.
The institute conducts recruitment for the following areas of undergraduate studies:
- Applied mathematics and informatics;
- Fundamental informatics and information technologies;
- Information systems and technologies.
FACULTY OF ECONOMICS
The Faculty of Economics dates back to March 5, 1959. Today, the Faculty is 63 years old, and it is the largest school of economists in the Urals and a recognized scientific and commercial center, which conducts extensive educational, research, consulting, and expert activities.
There are six departments at the Faculty of Economics of PSNRU:
- Department of Information Systems and Mathematical Methods in Economics;
- Department of Management, Marketing, and Commerce;
- Department of World and Regional Economics, Economic Theory;
- Department of Entrepreneurship and Economic Security;
- Department of Accounting, Audit and Economic Analysis;
- Department of Finance, Credit and Exchange Business.
FACULTY OF LAW
The Faculty of Law was organized during the founding of the university in 1916, in 2016 it celebrated its 100th anniversary together with the entire university.
Today the faculty has 8 departments. The main scientific directions at the faculty are “State power, law, morality”, “Public law and private law principles in the regulation of property relations”, “Problems of development of labor law and social security law in modern conditions”, “Comprehensive study of the problem of social security and protection of a person, in the conditions of a new social reality, based on the application of a resource-potential approach”.
The Faculty of Law provides training in already traditional areas – “Jurisprudence” and “Social Work”, as well as in the specialties “Forensic Expertise”, “Judicial and Prosecutorial Activity” and the direction “Conflictology” which are new and unique for the Perm Territory and neighboring regions.
MECHANICAL AND MATHEMATICAL FACULTY
The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics traces its lineage to the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, which, together with two other faculties, marked the opening of a branch of Petrograd University in Perm in 1916. Thus, the development of higher mathematical education began in the Urals. In 1916–1918 the new center of education and science attracted to Perm a whole galaxy of promising mathematicians and mechanics from the universities of Petrograd, Kyiv, Kazan, and Yuriev.
After the division of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics into the Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Physics in 1960, the system of mathematical education at PSU received a new impetus for development: the faculty began training in the specialties “Mathematics”, “Computational Mathematics” and “Mechanics”, a computer center was opened.
STUDENT SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY
SSS is a public association of students, graduate students, and young scientists, which coordinates the scientific activity of the youth community of the Perm State National Research University.
The main goal of SSS is the development and popularization of student science.
Tasks:
- creation and implementation of a system of measures (operational, long-term) aimed at identifying gifted students, graduate students, and young scientists who are promising for scientific and teaching activities as a university employees;
- ensuring the unity of education and preparation of students for independent scientific activity;
- wide involvement of students, graduate students, and young scientists in the creative process of studying and mastering the scientific methods of their profession and specialty;
- active involvement of the intellectual potential of the teaching staff for guidance and work in the system of scientific activity of students, graduate students, and young scientists;
- popularization of scientific achievements of university scientists in the student and postgraduate environment.
SPORTS CLUB “UNIVER”
Goals and objectives of the sports club:
- Formation among students and employees of the values of a healthy lifestyle, stimulating the creation and implementation of innovative programs and projects in an educational institution of higher professional education aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, developing physical culture and health, and sports work.
- Participation in sports competitions of various levels among higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation.
- Organization of the educational and training process in sports sections, combined teams of a higher educational institution.
PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS, ASSOCIATIONS, INTEREST CLUBS
Russian Youth Union
The Russian Union of Youth is one of the most massive, non-state, non-profit, non-political youth associations in Russia. This is an organization for youth and the youth themselves.
Student brigades
Student brigades are part of the youth organization “Russian student brigades”
Here the student can get the first work experience in the summer, and choose and master a new specialty: teacher, builder, or service worker. Official employment, free accommodation, and meals, as well as dating and traveling around Russia.
Student Council
The Student Council is a collegiate student self-government body and was created on the initiative of students to take into account the opinions of students on the management of an educational organization and the adoption of legal acts affecting the rights and legitimate interests of university students.
Student Association of Curators
The association of managers for work with curators and student curators at the faculties helps first-year students to adapt to the university, informs them about various types of educational and extracurricular activities, and answers exciting questions.
Board Games Club
Conducting board games for all interested students
The community informs students about all the activities of the club and also publishes educational and entertaining content about board games.
The community also supports various offshoots of board games: wargames, tabletop role-playing systems, and collectible card games.

Foreign Students Club
The Center for Foreign Culture is a student self-government body designed to represent, promote and protect the interests of students.
DORMITORY
All services, facilities, and living rooms have been recently renovated.
Each floor has a bathroom with a toilet and shower. There is a shared kitchen on each floor.
There are sports rooms, rooms for classes and recreation. Dormitory entrances and floors are equipped with video surveillance.
