    Since its founding in 1974, Dostoevsky Omsk State University (OmSU) has earned a reputation as a leader in multifunctional research, teaching, and cultural complex.

    Ranked the best university in the Omsk region and one of the best universities on the list of “100 best Universities of Russia”, OmSU is home to excellence in teaching and advanced research. OmSU has one Institute, 12 faculties, and as a classical university offers 112 degree programs not only in law, humanities, and natural sciences but also in theology, culture, and arts.

    The combination of art and technology helped shape the notion of the university as a place of both science and creativity.

    OmSU embraces its connections to the world and develops international relations with the universities of Europe, the USA, Mexico, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, and other countries. Such cooperation led to the establishment of the Centers for Chinese, Kazakh, and Ibero-American Studies which in its turn flows into the development of study and research abroad programs that provide the opportunity to conduct independent projects in a foreign country.

    FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCES

    The faculty of Computer Sciences at Dostoevsky OmSU was created on May 1, 2003, based on the Department of Computer Sciences, open April 1, 2001, at the Physics Faculty.

    It prepares experts in the fields of information security, maintenance of computer systems and networks, applied computer science, sociology, mathematics, and computer science.

    FACULTY OF ECONOMICS

    Faculty of Economics, Omsk State University F.M. Dostoevsky:

    FACULTY OF LAW

    Since its creation, the Faculty has made a significant contribution to shaping and nurturing the Russian legal system. The faculty also boasts a diverse community of academic staff whose unique perspectives, experiences, and critical thinking bring value and meaning to the study and understanding of the law.

    Faculty members have a rich learning environment, and students benefit greatly from it. It conducts both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in law. In addition to the diverse subjects offered in both teaching and research courses, the curriculum includes emerging legal disciplines.

    LIBRARY

    The library of the Omsk State University was organized in 1974 simultaneously with the university. The library currently has 23 employees.

    The library fund on physical media has more than 748 thousand publications. In 2021, the fund received about 5 thousand publications, including about 120 newspapers, magazines, and information publications.

    The library departments are housed in three academic buildings of the university. Users are provided with 2 subscriptions, 1 reading room, a sector of literature on art, as well as a library and information service center, and a room for independent work in building 2. The total number of seats is 241, including 23 automated ones.

    Library users are given access to electronic resources: the legal reference system “ConsultantPlus”, to the basic collection in the electronic library system “University Library online” and individual collections in the electronic library system of the publishing house “Lan”, to individual educational publications of the publishing house ” Academy”, to the electronic editions of the Omsk State University, to the databases of the National Electronic Library, the University Information System “Russia”, the Scientific Electronic Library e-library, to other domestic and foreign electronic resources, as well as electronic applications for traditional books and periodicals.

    CULTURE

    All ensembles and performance groups of the Faculty of Culture and Arts at Dostoevsky OmSU are the laureates of prestigious Russian and International competitions in the spheres of performing art and youth creative movement.

    Participation in International projects in the spheres of culture and art is focused on the modern development trends of choreographic and vocal art, cinema, photo, and video art, acting, directing, and performing art. Faculty developed and implemented joint education programs and projects with Italian educational institutions – Conservatorio di Verona and Conservatorio di Mantova.

    ACCOMMODATION

    There are two nine-story dormitory buildings. It is only a 10-minute walk from the dormitory to the main University building and a 5-minute walk to the International Relations Office; they are situated very close to other academic buildings with the faculties of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Social Sciences, History, Philology, and Foreign Languages.

    Dormitory rooms are equipped with furniture (desks, single beds, closets).

    There are two wash-hand basins, a bathroom shower cubicle, a toilet in a corridor shared between 4 rooms, and a kitchen on each floor. There is a self-service laundry in the dormitory.
