North Caucasian State Technical University “Institute of Oil and Gas”

North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) is one of Russia’s ten federal universities, each of them standing out as a unique academic institution established subject to the special national EDUCATION project. The purpose of this was to create advanced innovation-driven comprehensive centers for training, research, and business shaping qualified staff meeting the world’s top standards.

The aim of NCFU is to arrange training for those who are going to be further employed by the leading regional enterprises, thus contributing to the well-balanced performance within the major socio-economic programs.

North-Caucasus Federal University was established in 2012 as a merger of the three largest universities – North-Caucasus State Technical University, Stavropol State University, and Pyatigorsk University for Humanities and Technology.

INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING

The Engineering Institute was founded in 2017.

Our mission: a highly qualified district in the field of higher qualification and scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of the electric power industry, electronics, nanotechnology, construction, transport, mechanical engineering, technosphere and fire safety, design, with a high level of professional competencies, as well as the development of an ecosystem of innovations and science-intensive services allowing the emergence of situations of priority socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District and Russia.

At the institute, waiting for chief engineers, heads of design and technology departments, section heads, shop heads, design engineers, design engineers, process engineers, power engineers, foremen, and foremen.

INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT

The Institute of Economics and Management is one of the largest structural divisions of the university. The first set was made in 1972. Throughout its existence, more than 27 thousand economists and managers working in Russia and abroad have been trained.

The mission of the institute is to meet the needs of the North Caucasian Federal District and the country in personnel of the highest professional qualifications, possessing a high level of competencies that allow for the effective functioning of socio-economic systems of various levels.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND BIOLOGY

The faculty of Medicine and Biology was established in 2020.

The medical component of the faculty – the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Medicine, and the Department of Anatomy and Physiology – were formed by dividing the Department of Biomedicine and Physiology of the NCFU (formerly the Department of Biochemistry and the Department of Physical and Chemical Fundamentals of Medicine, SSU).

The biological component of the faculty – the Department of Evolutionary Ecology and Biodiversity, the Basic Department of Microbiology, and the Basic Department of Genetics and Breeding – were formed by reorganizing the Department of General Biology and Biodiversity of the NCFU (formerly the Department of General Biology, Botany and Zoology of SSU).

INSTITUTE OF LAW

The Law Institute of the North Caucasian Federal University is the largest educational and scientific center in the field of law in the North Caucasus. The quality of education at the institute is focused on the best Russian practices and meets the highest standards.

The institute has specialized classrooms, a forensic laboratory, and a testing ground. A training courtroom has been created and is actively used, in which, according to scenarios developed by students, civil and criminal trials are held.

INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS

Cooperation with foreign partners is aimed at ensuring the integration of the university into the international academic community, obtaining additional development opportunities, as well as the effective implementation of its competitive advantages.

Since the establishment of the federal university, the list of partner universities and leading foreign educational and scientific organizations that are partners of NCFU has been significantly expanded. To date, the university has concluded 98 bilateral and trilateral agreements with scientific and educational centers from 39 countries. In 2017, thanks to negotiations and joint events, 12 new agreements and agreements on cooperation were concluded with the universities of Slovenia, Iran, Macedonia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Hungary.

Given the priority direction for the development of international activities with the countries of Western Asia assigned to NCFU, at present, the university has accumulated experience in successful inter-university cooperation in a number of countries in this region. The university implements 27 international agreements with educational institutions in Western Asia (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, South Ossetia, Jordan, Abkhazia, and Iran).

In the European region, the most active cooperation is carried out with scientific and educational organizations in Germany, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, Poland, Austria, Great Britain, Switzerland, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Abkhazia, Latvia, Hungary.

SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY

The Scientific library of North-Caucasus federal university is one of the largest university libraries in Russia, worth modern technological infrastructure and comfortable reader servicing. It is an intellectual and information center playing an important role in the university’s educational, pedagogic, research, and innovative activity.

The library information facilities comprise more than 2.5 million units of different types of publications from the 17 to 21 centuries: books, magazines, video films, documents on CDs, floppy disks, and recording tapes. Annual arrivals number more than 50 thousand units and subscription to the national and foreign periodicals includes more than 500 names. In particular, there is a fund for a rare book section and a rich collection of regional study publications.

Alongside traditional publications, the library makes up the funds of electronic databases of documents and books. The hybrid library is also available for visitors. New information technologies, implemented in the library, provide access to the world’s intellectual wealth.

DORMITORIES

International students are provided with places in the dormitories of NCFU. At the moment the available hostels are No. 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8.

The student hostel has all the conditions for living, studying, and relaxing. Each residence has a living room (equipped with a modern TV, and upholstered furniture), a spiritual room, a kitchen, a computer room (for Internet access), and a library. The building has a Wi-Fi zone, in addition, the hostel has drawing, sewing, art, computer literacy, and foreign languages.
