History

Key events in the history of the university:

1993, December 13 – Signing by the Government of the Russian Federation of Decree No. 1279 on the establishment of the Maikop State Technological Institute.

1994 – Formation of technological, environmental, economic faculties and the faculty of secondary vocational education. Obtaining license No. 16G-787 for the right to conduct educational activities in the field of secondary (for 12 educational programs), higher (for 10 educational programs), additional professional education, issued by the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Higher Education. The first enrollment of students in the specialties of higher vocational education and the specialties of secondary vocational education.

1996 – Reorganization of the Faculty of Economics into the Faculty of Engineering and Economics and Finance and Economics. Formation of the Faculty of New Social Technologies and the Faculty of Agricultural Technologies. Opening of the first eight postgraduate specialties. Establishment of a center for multidisciplinary training at MGTI.

1997 – Admission of the Maikop State Technological Institute to the International Association of Universities under UNESCO.

1999 – The first graduation of students who received higher professional education. Successful passing of the state certification for ongoing professional educational programs. Joining the International Association of Automobile and Road Education. Release of the first issue of the institute newspaper “Tekhnolog”.

2002 – A significant increase in the indicators of the quality of the teaching staff: defense of 5 doctoral and 26 master’s theses by staff members of the institute. Holding 4 scientific and practical conferences, including the third international conference “Actual problems of ecology in the modern world.”

2003 – Formation of the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of International Education. Inclusion of MSTI in the official list of educational institutions of the Russian Federation providing pre-university training for foreign citizens. Holding an international scientific and practical conference “Tourism in mountainous regions: the path to sustainable development”, the fourth international scientific and practical conference “Actual problems of ecology in the modern world” and a regional scientific and practical conference “Maikop: ways out of the socio-economic crisis” .

2004 – Passage of state accreditation with the establishment of state accreditation status of the type “higher educational institution” of the type “university” and renaming by order of the Ministry of Education of Russia dated March 25, 2004 No. 8 into the state educational institution of higher professional education “Maikop State Technological University”. Rewarding the university with the highest award of the Republic of Adygea – the medal “Glory of Adygea” for special merits in the training of highly qualified specialists and scientific personnel, a great contribution to the development of higher technical education in the Republic of Adygea. Awarding of the Rector of the University Tkhakushinov A.K. Order of Honor. Creation of a medical institute with two faculties – medical and pharmaceutical, the beginning of the training of specialists in the specialties “Medicine” and “Pharmacy”. Conducting an international seminar on engineering biology within the framework of the TEMPUS project.

2005 – Recognition of the university as having passed attestation based on the results of a comprehensive assessment of activities and obtaining accreditation for the next 5 years. Opening of a regional specialized council for the defense of master’s theses in economic specialties. Education of the Faculty of Information Systems in Economics and Law. Creation of the scientific and technical center “Sapsan”.

About University

Today, there are 10 faculties at MSTU, at the Faculty of International Education, where students from Chad, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria, Libya and other countries of near and far abroad study, in total students from more than 30 countries of the world study. Since its inception, more than 14 thousand citizens with higher education have already left the walls of MSTU (2019).

Educational activities are conducted in 31 areas of bachelor’s training, 6 specialties, 12 master’s programs, 26 enlarged groups of areas of study and 11 programs for the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in graduate school, 3 residency programs, 13 specialties of secondary vocational education.

Various areas of international cooperation are actively developing at FGBOU VO “MSTU”. The university is a member of the International Association of Universities under UNESCO, the International Association of Automobile and Road Education. The geography of university connections covers such countries as Germany, France, Chad, Turkey, Israel, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Abkhazia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. MSTU develops partnerships under international cooperation agreements with 20 foreign universities, including: Erfurt University of Technology (Germany), Vienna University of Agriculture (Austria), An-Najah National University (Israel), University of Belgrade (Slovenia), School of Business Chachak (Serbia) and others.

MSTU is an educational institution that trains specialists with higher education in the field of construction, geodesy and land management, vehicles, forestry and landscape architecture, agriculture, exploration and development of minerals, food technology, environmental management and environmental protection, health care.

Hostel

The MSTU has 3 hostels. Hostels have furnished rooms (beds, desk, dining table, wardrobe, bedside table, stool) for 2 and 3 people.

In the hostel for students are available: kitchens for self-cooking; bathroom, showers and mini laundry; rest rooms; classrooms, gym. Hostels are equipped with video surveillance systems, security and fire alarms.
