    Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Kurgan State University” is a unitary non-profit organization. The main task is the implementation of educational, scientific, social, cultural and managerial functions to meet the spiritual and other non-material needs of citizens in education. It was established in 1995 in accordance with presidential decree № 990 on 30 September 1995, merging the Kurgan Engineering Institute, dating from 1959, with the Kurgan State Pedagogical Institute, dating from 1951. The university prepares students in humanitarian, socio-economic and technical specialties.

    THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS

    The Department of Economics’ mission is to teach students critical thinking and to use the discipline of economics to analyze and solve problems related to important economic, political, and social issues. These topics range from international economic relations to economic development, growth, income inequality, environment, education, housing, and competition policy. The courses offered, along with interaction with other scholars, help students become leaders in their communities after they graduate from university. Department members conduct research and offer courses in various traditional areas of economics, including Macroeconomics and Monetary Policy, Public Economics, and Labor Economics. The department members regularly publish in leading journals in the field and frequently consult with federal, state, and local policymakers.

    DEPARTMENT OF LAW

    The Department of Law has an international focus, its approach is comparative and its perspective is contextual. It is dedicated to studying law in all aspects.

    Courses and seminars are interactive, research-oriented and designed to cover the main subject areas of the Department’s work.

    The researchers work in private law, constitutional and administrative law, international public and private law, climate change law, environmental law, competition law, and economic regulation, as well as algorithmic, computational, and computational law with Ph.D. opportunities in society.

    DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY

    Department of Technology aims to provide a research platform for solving current industry-relevant research problems. Under the “Faculty of Technology”, four technical boards were set up: Chemistry and Biotechnology (CB), Computer and Information Technology (CI), Electrical and Electronic Technology (EE), and Mechanical and Materials Technology (MM).

    The Technical Department fosters interaction between industry and academia in the truest sense of the word by providing graduate students with a formal platform to conduct industry-sponsored research projects. Sponsor companies work with universities to define relevant, high-quality research questions. Academic research guides ensure research potential, industry research guides ensure the relevance of research topics, and guide graduate students develop meaningful research solutions.

    Student Organizations Team

    The Student Organizations team coordinates the registration process for new and continuing organizations, advises club leadership on event planning, leadership development, and membership recruitment, and helps students connect with clubs that fit their interests.

    STUDENT SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY

    The Student Scientific Society is the scientific association of students and undergraduates as well as young researchers from the number of doctoral students and teachers of the University, who are actively involved in scientific, organizational, and research activities.

    Aims:

    to create conditions for the disclosure of creative abilities and students’ education, for preserving and replenishing the intellectual potential of the University, stimulating the departments’ work to organize students’ research activity, contributing to the University work to improve the quality of specialists training with higher professional education and the further development of integration of Science and Education.

    ACCOMMODATION

    For non-resident and international students in need of housing, University provides places in Student residence that comprises four large buildings that can house about 900 students. It is like a real home with very comfortable and clean rooms, sitting rooms, and green open spaces in a quiet area.

    All four buildings have excellent living conditions and superb sanitary services. The buildings and residence sections include two, three, and four bed rooms for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.

    All the student housing spots are under CCTV surveillance cameras and security personnel. Each building has its own entrance card non-identical to the rest.

    • Wi-fi

    Rooms have Internet cables launched and wi-fi everywhere around the campus.

    • Library

    A library and separate reading rooms with a variety of literature and periodicals.

    • Indoor and outdoor sports facilities

    Gym and on-campus football fields are available for students’ active free time-spending.

    • Medical rooms

    In case a student needs help whenever it is needed medical rooms are equipped with the necessary provisions to get it on time.
