    History

    Kuban State Technological University – the oldest institution of higher education in the Kuban and the North Caucasus – was founded on June 16, 1918 by the decision of the Congress of the Council of Public Education of the Kuban-Black Sea Republic as the North Caucasian Polytechnic Institute.

    Over the past years, the names of the university and its structure have changed several times: the North Caucasian Polytechnic Institute (1918-1919); Kuban Polytechnic Institute (1919-1923); in the period from 1923 to 1930, it developed as part of the faculties of the Kuban Agricultural Institute, on the basis of which the North Caucasian Institute of Food Industry was created in 1930. The latter in 1931 was reorganized into the All-Union Institute of Oil and Margarine Industry. From 1938 to 1943, two universities trained specialists: the Krasnodar Chemical-Technological Institute of the Fat Industry and the Krasnodar Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking.

    In 1943, universities were merged into the Krasnodar Institute of Food Industry, on the basis of which the Krasnodar Polytechnic Institute was established in 1963. In November 1993, the Institute received the status of a university and was renamed the Kuban State Technological University (KubSTU).

    In 1980, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the university was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for its services in training highly qualified specialists for the national economy and in the development of science.

    In 2008, the university was awarded the “Recognized Excellence” level according to the model of the European Foundation for Quality Management EFQM.

    In October 2008, within the framework of the international program “Leaders of the XXI century” KubGTU was awarded the international award “European Quality” (“European quality”) – for the desire to achieve high quality products and services in accordance with European standards.

    In 2009, KubSTU certified the quality management system in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001:2008.

    In 2008, in the IV All-Russian competition of educational systems of educational institutions (nomination “Institutions of higher professional education”), the educational system of KubSTU was recognized as the best in the Krasnodar Territory and 3rd in Russia.

    In 2009, 2010, 2011, the university became the winner of the regional competition “For the best educational institution in preparation for the new academic year” in the nomination “The best institution of vocational education”.

    In 2012, the university passed the recertification and certification of the quality management system in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001:2008.

    In 2012, KubSTU for the second time became the winner of the open public All-Russian competition of institutions of higher professional education “Healthy Lifestyle University”.

    In 2012 and 2013, the Technological University was among the winners of the competitive selection of programs for the development of the activities of student associations of educational institutions of higher professional education, conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

    In 2015, 13 educational programs of our university were recognized as the best within the framework of the project “The Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia” in 2016.

    In 2015, the university was awarded the RF Government Prize in the field of quality for achieving significant results in the field of product and service quality and the introduction of highly effective quality management methods (Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated November 6, 2015 No. 1202).

    In 2017, for the third time, EFQM assessors confirmed the compliance of the university’s management system with the level of “Recognized Excellence” – 5 stars of the EFQM Excellence Model. As a result of the visit, a stable positive dynamic of assessments for all criteria was noted.

    On June 16, 2018, the Kuban State Technological University, the founder of higher education in the Kuban, turned 100 years old.

    In 2019, according to the monitoring of the RAEX rating agency (RAEX-Analytics), KubSTU became the only university in Kuban that entered the Top 50 IT universities. In the same year, seven educational programs of KubSTU successfully passed professional and public accreditation in the All-Russian Intersectoral Association of Employers.

    About University

    Today KubSTU is one of the largest leading educational and scientific centers of the Krasnodar Territory and the South of Russia. University graduates are in demand at enterprises and organizations in the economic, machine-building, technological, energy, construction, road, oil and gas, social profiles of all regions of Russia, countries of the near and far abroad. In 2019, according to the monitoring of the RAEX rating agency (RAEX-Analytics), KubSTU became the only university in Kuban that entered the Top 50 IT universities. In the same year, seven educational programs of KubSTU successfully passed professional and public accreditation in the All-Russian Intersectoral Association of Employers.

    Kuban State Technological University is more than 1000 teachers, more than 1400 employees of various categories, more than 20 thousand students, pupils and listeners. KubSTU was twice among the winners of an open public competition to provide support for programs for the development of a training system for the military-industrial complex in educational institutions of higher education subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia: the program “Training highly qualified specialists in the development and production of equipment for communication centers, information systems, systems and complexes of telecommunications for special purposes.

    The university has the right to conduct educational activities in more than 300 educational programs (license and certificate of state accreditation). Including: secondary vocational education – 61, training of higher education specialists – 81, training of bachelors – 66, masters – 47. Training is open for 420 programs of additional professional education (professional retraining, advanced training).

    University students take part in All-Russian and regional Olympiads and competitions in disciplines and specialties, taking 1st – 3rd places: 1st team place among technological universities in the All-Russian Student Olympiad in the discipline “Higher Mathematics”, 2nd place in the individual championship in the All-Russian Student Olympiad “Securities Market”, 1 – 3 places in the All-Russian competitions of final qualifying works in specialties and directions: 190701 Organization of transportation and transport management, 190702 Organization and traffic safety, 120300 Land management and cadastres, etc.

    The educational process at the university is based on the use of pedagogical tools that integrate new information and traditional technologies. The departments widely use modern effective teaching technologies, such as a modular-rating system of teaching and monitoring students’ knowledge, technology of professionally oriented learning, elements of problem-based learning, game teaching methods, etc.

    At the university, the educational process is conducted on the basis of modern educational technologies, using both new (Internet resources, modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment of KubSTU) and traditional information and methodological sources: scientific library funds and published educational and methodological literature. All types of information and methodological support complement each other, allowing to achieve a high quality of training.

    Hostel

    Kuban State Technological University has five comfortable hostels. Foreign students of KubSTU live mainly in hostel No. 4.

    The hostel provides students with the necessary furniture, provides residents with bedding.

    The dormitories have rooms for self-study, recreation (leisure) rooms, and sanitary facilities.

    To represent the interests of those living in the hostel, a student council is elected from the most active students.

    The Student Council coordinates the activities of the floor elders, organizes cultural work, helps the hostel administration in keeping the floors and rooms clean and tidy.
