Kostroma State University named after N.A.Nekrasova
The flagship university of the Kostroma region was established in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 196 dated March 10, 2016, by reorganizing two universities in the form of joining: the Kostroma State University named after N. A. Nekrasov to the Kostroma State Technological University. The academic councils and university administrations decided to follow the principle of the equal association during the accession.
KSU is one of the 11 flagship universities in Russia of the “first wave”. Among the many applicants, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation chose him. This indicates a worthy base for Kostroma State University and a high potential for further development and improvement.
An interesting creative and sports life of students, the opportunity to engage in scientific research, take part in competitions and olympiads of the highest level, and start their career already in the third or fourth year of the university – all this attracts young people to the Kostroma State not only from the Kostroma region but also from many regions of Russia.

INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, ECONOMICS, AND FINANCE
The Institute of Management, Economics, and Finance was established in 2006 based on the Faculty of Economics, founded more than 50 years ago.
The activities of the Institute of Economics and Economics are aimed at developing economic education and science through fundamental and applied research and training at all levels of higher, postgraduate, and additional education in a wide range of economic and managerial areas.
The main objectives of the educational process are:
- ensuring the quality of graduate training in accordance with the requirements of domestic and international educational standards based on innovative forms of organizing the educational process;
- increasing the competitiveness of graduates of the institute in the labor market;
- meeting the needs of the region in highly qualified specialists.
Graduates are distinguished by high-quality employment, successful career growth in various areas of economic activity, and occupy high positions both at enterprises in the city of Kostroma and the Kostroma region, and in other large cities of Russia.
LAW INSTITUTE NAMED AFTER YU.P. NOVITSKY
Law Institute. Yu. P. Novitsky was established in 2016.
The following educational programs are currently being implemented at Institute:
for the preparation of a bachelor’s in the direction 40.03.01 “Jurisprudence”
for the preparation of masters in the direction 40.04.01 “Jurisprudence”, three master’s programs:
- “Lawyer in public authorities” full-time education;
- “Legal foundations of state and municipal government” correspondence course;
- “Lawyer in judicial and law enforcement agencies” correspondence course.
Postgraduate studies are open in two scientific specialties: 5.1.1 “Theoretical and historical legal sciences”; 5.1.4 “Criminal legal sciences”.
EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE CENTER
The Employment Assistance Center is a structural subdivision of the University, one of the main activities of which is aimed at comprehensive support and assistance to students and graduates of the University in all areas of training in finding a part-time job (secondary employment), planning their career and employment in the modern labor market.
The main areas of work of the Center are:
- formation of a data bank on the needs of enterprises and organizations of the city of Kostroma and the region in personnel.
- teaching students effective behavior in the labor market.
- Promoting the employment of students and graduates.
- assistance in organizing internships.
- promotion of temporary employment of students during extracurricular time;
- conducting marketing research, analysis, and monitoring of the labor market, satisfaction with the quality of training of specialists in close cooperation with employers and university graduates;
- cooperation with enterprises and organizations acting as employers for students and graduates.

DORMITORIES
University currently has five dormitories.
The dormitory is not only a place to live, but also a space where we help each other in completing our studies, where we strive to help everyone develop their talents and contribute to self-education, literacy, physical activity, and quality, meaningful free time. The communities and friendships that are formed here can last a lifetime and can be formative beyond the university years. University provides accommodation for more than 900 students in its halls of residence.
There are mainly rooms with 3 beds, but there is also a room with 2 beds on each floor. All rooms are equipped with a fridge, sink, and mirror. Each floor has a kitchen (with a microwave, fridge, sink, & kettle), shower, and toilet, and the basement laundry room has 5 washing machines and 1 dryer.
