Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Khakass State University named after N.F. Katanov” is an educational organization of higher education, which, as the main goal of its activity, carries out educational activities in educational programs of higher education and scientific activities created to carry out educational, scientific, social and other functions of a non-commercial nature.

MEDICAL INSTITUTE

Medical institute Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Khakass State University named after V.I. N.F. Katanov” was created based on the Decree of the Academic Council of the University dated 17.06.2002. (Minutes No. 13), put into effect by the order of the rector dated 19.07.2002. No. 279/1.

The main goal of MI is the implementation of basic educational programs (BEP) in accordance with federal state educational standards/state educational standards in areas of training (specialties) in the field of medical, psychological sciences, and social work, assigned to the Institute by order of the rector based on the decision of the academic council of the university.

The MI includes departments, a medical college, a residency, a retraining and accreditation center, and other structural units.

INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

The Institute of Information Technology and Engineering Education was founded on March 1, 2012. Since September 1, 2018, it has been renamed the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The Institute includes 4 departments – Computer Software and Automated Systems, Information Technologies and Systems, Production Technologies and Technosphere Safety, Urban Construction and Economy; Educational and experimental laboratory of information systems, and Resource center for training engineering personnel.

INSTITUTE OF HISTORY AND LAW

The Institute of History and Law was established by order of the rector No. 371 on February 23,  1998, through the reorganization of the Faculty of Economics and Law and the Faculty of History.

The Institute included eight departments; Museum of History, Archeology, and Ethnography; Legal Clinic; Criminalistic laboratory. The Institute provides training in the areas of training “Jurisprudence” and “History” (bachelor’s programs (OFD, ZFO, WFD), magistracy (OFO, WFD), postgraduate studies (OFO, WFO)), and additional professional education. Teachers of the Institute work in the police classes of secondary schools in the city of Abakan.

Since 2021, the Institute has had three departments: the Department of Civil Law and Criminal Law Disciplines, the Department of State Law Disciplines, and the Department of History.

INSTITUTE OF NATURAL SCIENCES AND MATHEMATICS

At the time of its formation, the Institute included eight departments (botany, zoology, general biology, anatomy, human physiology and the basics of medical knowledge, chemistry, mathematics and methods of teaching mathematics, physics and methods of teaching physics, philosophy and sociology, physical culture and sports). Students were trained in pedagogical specialties of higher professional education: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for full-time education, and Biology – for part-time education. Postgraduate professional education was carried out in the following specialties: Solid State Physics and Sociology of Culture, Education, and Science.

Currently, training is being carried out in 6 specialties and 3 areas of full-time undergraduate education, and 2 specialties of correspondence education.

The main goal of the institute, as one of the leading structural divisions of the university, was the development of classical natural science education.

ABOUT THE CAREER CENTER

The Career Center (CC) is a place where students and graduates of the university can find applications for their talents, and creative inclinations, get advice on promoting employment and also acquire additional opportunities for building a successful career in the learning process.

The main tasks are to help students build their career trajectory, get additional opportunities for the implementation of their career plans, and assist in finding a job.

The Career Center of N.F.Katanov KhSU is actively integrating into social networks to attract not only students and graduates but also partner employers to cooperate.

We cooperate with more than 430 key companies.

TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION SUPPORT CENTER

The Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) was established in 2012 in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Service for Intellectual Property and the World Intellectual Property Organization for the establishment of such centers in the Russian Federation and based on the Agreement between the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Federal Institute Industrial Property” (FIPS) and the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Khakass State University named after. N.F. Katanov”.

Goals of establishing TISCs:

• increasing the efficiency of dissemination of knowledge on the issues of the legal protection of the results of intellectual activity and the conduct of patent research;
• promotion and popularization of innovation activities at the University through conferences and seminars;
• providing access to patent information resources in the field of intellectual property to increase their incentives for the creation and effective use of the results of intellectual activity;
• the fullest use of the scientific and technical potential of the University, as well as the creation of the necessary conditions for stimulating the implementation and development of the creative capabilities of developers;

SPORTS CLUB “UNIVERSITY”

The sports club “Universitet” organizes and conducts mass sports, physical culture, and health-improving work at the university organizes the work of sports sections at the university, conducts a selection and sports training of student-athletes, and forms university teams in various sports.

STUDENTS’ RESIDENCE

Students’ Residence have been recently renovated and reconstructed. There are two-bed, and three-bed rooms with their own bathrooms and toilets. All rooms in the building are furnished with modern and comfortable furniture; the rooms are soundproof and are connected to the internet system. In the basement, there are rehearsal rooms for musicians; the gym is available as well. On the main floor, there is a computer room that can also be used as a meeting place for the students.
