    Kemerovo State University was founded in 1974.

    Kemerovo State University is one of the most modern higher education institutions in the city with a developed infrastructure. In 2018, KemSU ranked among the TOP-10 flagship universities in Russia.

    KemSU possesses modern research and educational laboratories and has over 20 research schools. The university’s research projects have received grant support from Russian and international foundations.

    KemSU organizes internships and facilitates job placement at the leading companies and enterprises in Russia and abroad.

    INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

    KemSU has the experience of training students from all over the world: within degree programs, exchange programs, courses in Russian as a foreign language, and at the preparatory faculty for international applicants. In the academic year 2021/2022, it trains 860 students from 19 countries:

    INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE

    In December 2021, Kemerovo State University obtained a license for the right to conduct educational activities in the specialty “Medicine”. The structure of the Institute includes a laboratory of physical and chemical research of pharmacologically active and natural compounds that opened in January 2022. It is equipped with modern high-precision scientific equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers. The laboratory’s activity is aimed at a comprehensive study of substances of plant origin, their biological activity, and the creation of new types of medicines.

    The Institute of Medicine is equipped with classrooms for simulation training and phantom techniques of education. A wide range of educational opportunities with the use of full-body mannequins, and medical and virtual anatomy simulators will ensure the training of highly qualified healthcare specialists.

    INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGIES

    The Institute of Engineering Technologies dates back to 1972.

    Industrial production equipment is constantly improving and becoming more complex. Technological processes, technical preparation, and the correct maintenance of equipment directly affect the level of quality of the end products, consumer satisfaction, and health. The in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the Institute’s graduates are often used in high-tech industries: the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, automotive industry, food industry, etc.

    In 2007, the Institute opened a Fire Safety program.

    The Institute’s staff have extensive teaching experience and scientific potential. More than 70 percent of the teaching staff have doctoral and postdoctoral degrees.

    1. Among the Institute’s research areas, of particular practical relevance are:
    2. development of high-tech powder mixers;
    3. creation of algorithms, software, and microprocessor-based automatic devices;
    4. process optimization in refrigeration systems;
    5. testing rotary atomizers for heterogeneous gas-liquid systems.

    The Institute has advanced facilities. It is increasingly using computer graphics using design software packages. The efficiency of the learning process is also achieved through the use of a variety of training and production equipment in laboratories and workshops.

    INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT

    The Institute of Economics and Management is one of the leading institutes of Kemerovo State University. This Institute makes a great contribution to both the educational and research activity of the university.

    Our graduates successfully work in leading companies and organizations. They work in the following spheres: public administration, banking, and insurance, tax authorities, marketing, advertising, and PR. They start up their own businesses or do research.

    The Institute of Economics and Management boasts a large number of experienced practitioners involved in the educational process. We also keep in touch with representatives of prospective employers. This allows us to strengthen the practical orientation of training.

    PREPARATORY COURSES 

    The Preparatory department welcomes international students wishing to improve their knowledge of the Russian Language and other academic subjects.

    Since the 1990s, students from Armenia, Afghanistan, Belgium, China, France, Guinea, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Ivory Coast, Laos, Mongolia, Syria, Sudan, Turkey, Vietnam, and Zambia have mastered their knowledge of Russian at Kemerovo State University.

    Russian as Foreign Language (RFL) is taught by prominent Assistant Professors and Associate Professors at KemSU’s Department of Russian Language and Literature who are experts in teaching RFL.

    Special academic disciplines (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Social Sciences, and Literature) are taught by teachers of relevant departments who are experienced in and qualified for teaching foreign students.

    LIBRARY

    KemSU’s library has branches in three buildings of the University, with a total of 4 reading rooms for 250 seats. The Library’s funds comprise 1.5 million printed documents, including scientific, educational, reference, popular science, and art literature, periodicals, and publications. Of particular value are the rare books of the 16th – 20th centuries, periodicals of the 19th century, old printed books, lifetime editions of classics, as well as collections of books by prominent Russian and KemSU’s researchers. The Library uses the comprehensive library automation system “IRBIS64”, facilitating access to the electronic catalog. KemSU’s library also provides access to electronic educational resources and electronic databases.

    EXTRA ACTIVITIES (CLUBS AND STUDIOS)

    Student life is not limited to lectures, seminars, tests, and exams, it is a time for the formation of personality, a time of creation, and a time for the discovery of new talents and new opportunities.

    STUDENT RESIDENCE 

    KemSU has 7 student residence buildings. Accommodation in KemSU’s student residence buildings is provided to all students coming from other countries (including exchange students) for the period of the study, and to applicants – for the entrance exam period. The residence buildings are equipped with the necessary furniture and bathroom units. KemSU provides comfortable and safe living conditions.
