    About Kazan

    Kazan is a city located on the left bank of the Volga River, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, an important economic and cultural center of Russia. It is not only an ancient city with a long history, but also a meeting place between Europe and Asia, Orthodoxy and Islam.

    Scientific activity

    In the educational process of KNRTU-KAI, a training course on the theory of solving inventive problems has been introduced – this is a scientific approach to inventive activity that allows you to expand the existing framework in any areas of knowledge and achieve a new result. Training is conducted according to CDIO standards – an integrated approach to engineering education: a set of general principles for creating curricula, their material and technical support, selection and training of teachers.

    KNRTU-KAI is the holder of a certificate of compliance with international quality standards in the field of educational services and research activities ISO 9001: 2015.

    KNRTU-KAI is a member of the European Association of Universities (EAU) and a member of the European Association of Aerospace Universities PEGASUS.

    “KAI-Park”

    A powerful network of independent but integrated engineering centers “KAI-Park” is being created for all the main areas of the university’s activities.

    Taking into account the special importance of composite technologies for such industries as shipbuilding, automobile, aviation, helicopter construction, and power engineering, the KAI-Composite center has been launched. In the test center “KAI-Resource”, where a large number of specialized equipment is presented, it is possible to test any units, assemblies of aircraft and helicopters. The “KAI-Laser” center, where powerful laser technological complexes are concentrated, has been successfully launched. Specialists of the center of nanoelectronics are developing the use of single-wall carbon nanotubes, which improve the characteristics of composite materials. The activities of the KAI-Nanotechnology center are aimed at the development and application of modern nanotechnologies in mechanical engineering.

    “KAI-Grad”

    On the territory of KNRTU-KAI, the construction of the KAI-Grad student campus continues, which will make it possible to most effectively organize educational and educational processes that meet the modern requirements of a research university. The general development plan provides for the construction of five educational and laboratory buildings with a total area of 150 thousand m2.

    Higher education at KNRTU-KAI includes 40 fields of study for Bachelors, 7 fields of study for Specialists and 21 fields of study for Masters; 6 institutes and the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

    Preparatory department

    The International Preparatory Department is an educational unit of KNRTU-KAI, which implements additional general education programs that provide training for foreign citizens and stateless persons to master professional educational programs in Russian in the following profiles: engineering and technical and technological, economic, biomedical.

    Foreign students of the International Preparatory Department, who have mastered these educational programs and passed exams and tests corresponding to the profile of preparation, receive a certificate of pre-university training, which allows them to enter the first year of bachelor’s, specialist’s or master’s degrees at any university in the country.

    The International Preparatory Department conducts pre-university training for foreign citizens from the CIS countries, Syria, Libya, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, China, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam, Yemen, Cameroon, Colombia, Tunisia and many other countries.

    The educational process involves teachers with many years of experience, having a special education in Russian as a foreign language, doctors and candidates of pedagogical and technical sciences, authors of programs, textbooks.

    Hostels

    For a comfortable stay, KNITU-KAI offers foreign students to stay in one of the seven student hostels of the university. For students’ accommodation there are two-, three-, four-bed rooms. It is important to note that student houses are located in close proximity to educational buildings and social facilities of the university.

    In the hostels of KNRTU-KAI, the necessary conditions have been created for full-fledged living, study, cultural recreation and sports. The hostels are equipped with reading and computer rooms, lounges with tennis tables, and gyms. There are laundry rooms with washing machines. On the basis of the hostel No. 2 there is a dispensary equipped with modern medical equipment.

    Public order in the hostel is maintained by the Student Security Service and a private security company.

    It should be noted that the student is provided with housing throughout the entire period of study, subject to the rules of residence. The campus administration conducts constant monitoring. In addition, each hostel has its own student councils, which help to solve housing and household issues, organize cultural and sports events.
