Accommodation

Accommodation is one of the most significant factors when it comes to living and studying abroad. The students of Grozny State Oil Technical University are provided with rooms for 2-3 people. All rooms are cozy, well-equipped and comfortable to live. A bed, a mattress, a pillow, a blanket, a desk, chairs as well as access to Internet are given to every single Student at the University. It is located in 10-15 minutes’ walk from most shops, cafes etc.

The university hostel has 5 floors which are equipped with everything you need: toilets, spacious washrooms with soap dispensers, kitchens with electric stoves and ovens, kitchen furniture and dishwashing detergent. There are 2 types of rooms that can accommodate 170 students in total.

Double rooms include features as private WC, shower, kitchen and balcony;

Suite-style rooms are divided into several categories:

double and triple rooms share such amenities as WC, shower and kitchen with another room.
5-person suite is comprised of one double room and one triple room that are connected by a shared private hallway, WC, kitchen, shower and balcony.

Entertainment:

There are various museums, art galleries, sports clubs, playground, theaters, cinemas etc. Places of interest include Grozny-City Towers, Akhmat-Arena stadium, Grozny Dolphinarium, as well as multiple monuments, public libraries.

About city

Grozny is the capital city of Chechnya, Russia. The city lies on the Sunzha River. For administrative purposes, the city is divided into four city districts: Leninsky, Zavodskoy, Staropromyslovsky, and Oktyabrsky. Oktyabrsky District hosts most of the city’s industry. The city is served by Grozny Airport. The airport “Grozny” (“Severniy”) is located about five kilometers from the city center. It mainly serves regular daily flights from Moscow. Such modes of transport as trains, trolley-buses, trams are also available in the city. The railway station of Grozny serves daily trains Moscow – Grozny and Volgograd – Grozny. The most common means of transportation around the city are buses. There are three universities in the capital: Chechen State University, Chechen State Pedagogical University and Grozny State Oil Technical University. Grozny has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters.

On the streets of Grozny, instead of numerous billboards, in addition to portraits of Akhmad and Ramzan Kadyrov and Vladimir Putin, you can see quotes from the Quran. Do not forget that Grozny is a city of Muslim culture. There are almost no historical objects in Grozny. There are several pre-revolutionary buildings and Soviet monuments. All other places of interest were created over the past decade. The Chechen Drama Theater, the M. Lermontov Drama Theater, the Chechen State Philharmonic Society play an important role in the cultural life of the city.

The Sunzha River crosses Grozny from southwest to northeast. The city center is located at the intersection of the Sunzha with the avenues of Vladimir Putin and Akhmad Kadyrov. The main street of Grozny is Akhmad Kadyrov Avenue (former Lenin Avenue). It crosses almost the whole city and beyond the Leninsky bridge across the Sunzha River turns into Vladimir Putin Avenue (former Victory Avenue). In this district, the main tourist sites are concentrated.

About GSOTU

Grozny State Oil Technical University was founded in 1920 as the Higher Petroleum Technical School, consisting of eight divisions, two of which were higher. Among the graduates of the institute are five Heroes of Socialist Labor, ministers of the petrochemical and oil refining industries of the USSR.

At present, the material and technical base of the institute consists of buildings that meet the requirements and standards of the educational process, provided with computer classes and modern educational laboratories. There are 30 laboratories and 15 computer classes in all faculties of the institute. All buildings of the university are connected to global internet, access to which, thanks to a developed local network, is possible from any computer at the institute.

The library of the institute is equipped with the necessary technical means for storing and issuing books. Today, the general book fund of the institute is about 250,000 copies.

For 85 years, Grozny Oil Technical University has trained more than 50 000 specialists for various sectors of the national economy of Russia. The educational process at the university is carried out by about 550 teachers, including 15 doctors of science, 70 candidates of science, 30 professors, 75 associate professors. The institute trains about 6,500 students, including more than 3,500 full-time students. Over the past five years, the institute has graduated more than 3,000 specialists, 150 of whom received diplomas with honors.

All classrooms of the university are well-furnished and equipped with interactive whiteboards, computers and other facilities which are necessary for successful studying. During breaks our students may have set lunch or dinner in the canteens which are available in our educational establishment and are characterized by a great variety of food.

The university offers various areas of training in specialized Bachelor’s and Master’s programs as well as other postgraduate courses. Every year the university also welcomes international students from all over the world and their quantity is constantly increasing. People who would like to become masters of their craft, who are eager to obtain diplomas recognized everywhere and then to be wanted as great specialists in any oil company, come to study at Grozny State Oil technical University.
