    History

    The Bryansk State Engineering and Technology University was organized as a forestry institute in accordance with the decree of the Council of People’s Commissars of the RSFSR of June 2, 1930 and the decision of the Presidium of the All-Union Agricultural Soviet Federative Socialist Republic of July 3, 1930. Classes at the institute began on January 25, 1931.

    The institute is located in the historic building of the House of Banks and Industry (architect A.Z. Grinberg), the completion of which coincided with the opening of the institute. At the same time, on February 10, 1931, a workers’ faculty began to work at the institute.

    In the prewar years, the university was renamed several times: in 1933 to the Bryansk Forestry Institute, in 1940 to the Bryansk Forestry Institute.

    In connection with the beginning of the World War II and the threat of occupation of the city of Bryansk, at the end of August 1941, the Institute was transferred to the city of Sovetsk, Kirov Region, by order of the Main Forestry Protection. Having settled on the basis of the Soviet Forestry College, he immediately resumed his work. Management of the institute and technical school in 1941-1942. carried out by A.V. Malinovsky.

    Many students and teachers from the first days of the war went to the front. Heroically fighting on the fronts, they brought victory closer with all their might. About 200 people gave their lives for their Motherland. A memorial plaque is dedicated to them in the educational building on Lenin Avenue and a monument is erected near the building of the main building of the academy.

    During the war years, hundreds of potential applicants ended up at the front, the contingent of students and the graduation of specialists was sharply reduced, in 1943 it amounted to only 12 people.

    After the liberation of the city of Bryansk, the institute returned to its native walls, where on June 19, 1944. classes were resumed. The re-evacuation was carried out under the guidance of the director of the institute F.M. Gurov (1944-1945). Further restoration of the institute was continued by director G.N. Moiseev (1945-1957). In 1957, the Institute was headed by Professor, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Vsevolod Vasilyevich Pamfilov. Under his leadership, in 1960 the institute was reorganized into a multidisciplinary polytechnic university – the Bryansk Technological Institute.

    A modern campus was built on the new square – an educational building, a multi-storey hostel, a stadium, a canteen, etc.

    For great merits in the training of personnel, by the Decree of the President of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 5, 1980, the Bryansk Technological Institute was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. In connection with the development of the university in 1995, the Bryansk Institute of Technology was renamed the Bryansk State Engineering and Technology Academy.

    In July 2015, the Bryansk State Academy of Engineering and Technology became a university.

    Today, the Bryansk State Engineering and Technology University is a multidisciplinary educational institution, which includes 3 institutes, 1 faculty, _ departments.

    The infrastructure of the university includes modern educational buildings, an educational and laboratory and research base, a scientific and electronic library, four hostels in the center of Bryansk, a stadium, its own food processing plant, an educational experimental forestry, an arboretum with a unique collection of trees and shrubs.

    The educational process is carried out by highly qualified teachers with degrees of doctors and candidates of sciences. 30 educational and research laboratories, ten training centers, three design bureaus, various creative circles and sections are available for students. During the training, students are socially protected, they are paid a scholarship and material assistance, and vacations at sea are organized.

    Based on the results of the monitoring of higher education organizations, annually conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science, the activities of the Bryansk State Engineering and Technology University were recognized as effective.

    About University

    Currently, the Bryansk State Engineering and Technology University is a multidisciplinary university that trains bachelors and masters in 12 areas of full-time and part-time education. The academy includes 5 faculties, 29 departments, an educational and experimental forestry enterprise, postgraduate studies, a center for pre-university training and additional professional education, a scientific and technical library.

    To ensure the educational process and the high quality of training of specialists, the academy has a modern teaching, laboratory and research base, which is constantly being improved. The educational process uses technological and experimental equipment, more than 800 units of personal computers, united in computer networks with access to the Internet.

    The university pays great attention to the creative and cultural development of students. Student youth improves their skills in circles of ballroom and variety dances, vocals, vocal and instrumental ensembles, a club of cheerful and resourceful (KVN).

    For recreation and recreation, students annually receive more than 500 vouchers to health centers located on the Black Sea coast. The academy has a student council and a trade union organization of students that protect their rights and interests, organize living conditions and improve students’ health.

    Hostel

    Bryansk State Engineering and Technology University has 4 hostels.

    The campus has a health center, a canteen, a grocery store, a stadium where sports competitions are held in various sports.

    Hostels are equipped with fire alarms and fire extinguishers. Hostels shifts have alarm buttons for calling police officers. Hostel No. 4 houses the police room, where a police officer works on a permanent basis, and the staff of the student task force.The hostels have access control.

    Places in hostels are provided for all non-resident students and applicants for the period of entrance examinations. 1100 students live in the hostels of the academy.

    In hostels there are student councils that represent the interests of students, help them in resolving controversial issues.
